"... Wattens - Interior designer Cornelia Kollmann from SISSIBAY architects in Innsbruck successfully steps in from time to time as a kind of "troubleshooter" for projects of all kinds: "For me, design is the application of a vision of progress in the service of life. My projects deal with moments of life, my design captures life, it lets it breathe, it gives space and air," she says about her work. This example of a renovation project shows just how individual and creative she can be in collaboration with open-minded clients.
The existing residential building from the 1990s has always been a special eye-catcher that stood out due to its variety of materials, colors and shapes.
The owner now wanted a facelift for his property so that he and his wife could enjoy the coming years with state-of-the-art technology and a new lifestyle. With great respect for the existing building and the courage to make changes, Kollmann took on the project, completely restructured the interior, completed it with an additional underground garage and also gave the façade a contemporary touch.
Due to the extreme variety of shapes and design elements, the rooms appeared relatively restless and were no longer entirely in keeping with the spirit of the times. Clever interventions such as closing off individual areas, creating new visual relationships and the sensible recomposition of the rooms resulted in a completely new sense of space that fully reflects the owners and their way of life. The creation of a new terrace on the upper floor also brought a breath of fresh air and a relationship with the surroundings.
The focus was on meeting the practical and design requirements of the clients and creating an appropriately sophisticated lighting concept.
The interior designer was able to fully express her creativity when furnishing the spacious rooms. By playing with different materials such as wood, leather, carpet, ceramics and stone and creating new room proportions, she achieved the perfect staging of a very individual philosophy of life.
Both retreats and reception areas are planned down to the last detail and executed to perfection.
A hint of Hollywood permeates the building as you walk from the boutique-style dress box into the impressive living room with mirrored fireplace and open kitchen with back office area, then upstairs to the private chambers with spa bath, sauna and various dressing rooms.
The design of a luxurious outdoor area is scheduled for implementation in summer, which will round off the overall concept."
