We design, plan, build. Nevertheless, we do not see ourselves as just a classic architectural firm. The team at SISSIBAY architects focuses on a holistic approach to every task - whether it's the supervision of large-scale construction projects or the development of exclusive furniture lines. We work on creative solutions, develop tailor-made solutions for each client and always place the needs and motives of our clients at the center of our work.
Thanks to our experience as a general planner, any construction project can be handled using BIM (Building Information Modeling).
SISSIBAY was founded in 2007 by Cornelia Kollmann. Gerhard Ostermann followed in 2008. Ten years later, the SISSIBAY architects team relocated from Innsbruck/Wilten to Innsbruck/Mühlau, moving into the 500-year-old Grabenstein residence on Sternbachplatz.

It always comes at some point, the question about the story behind our name - that's it: During a vacation on Crete, in the beautiful bay of "Sissi", a small village on the north coast, we decided to start our own business. And because we wanted to take the positive, creative energy of this place with us, it has accompanied us every day since then in our company name in everything we do.

The Grabenstein residence in Innsbruck/Mühlau, our current home, was originally a Plattnerhaus where armor was crafted. The Mühlau stream, whose rushing waters now provide the acoustic backdrop to our work, once served as a driving force for forges and hammer mills. Around 1800, the lady of the house, Therese von Sternbach, supported the fighters in the Lower Inn Valley both materially and financially, bought rifles and ammunition and, according to her own reports, even took part in the battles on horseback, spurring her men on. Her eccentric legacy still inspires us today to keep trying new things and taking unusual paths.
