Welcome to the new village

"Preserving the identity of a place does not mean nostalgically clinging to its immutability, but rather capturing and updating the idea of a place by means of an architectural project. The place and the tradition can always be reinterpreted, sometimes even transformed and reassembled in an innovative way. This type of architecture sees itself as a continuation of a tradition. It should not be perceived as a caesura and yet still appear contemporary. It should also be simple and modest." (Armando Ruinelli)

The reinterpretation of the village requires an examination of the history and tradition of a village. Cohesion, shelter ("protected place"), nature - these are the emotions that our project is intended to generate.

The village in the form of a new community that provides our visitors with a second home of well-being, that focuses on naturalness (regional materials and products), that reflects the character of sticking together in the village by sharing (areas, festivals/events, impressions, etc.) ... communicating with each other. These are the defining characteristics of our village.

The urban axis from the street to the new Pinzgauer Bahn train stop runs right through the lobby and the village square/village fountain and immediately draws the eye up to the mountains - to the Kitzsteinhorn.

When you arrive in the village, you immediately find yourself in the Kirchenwirt and look out into nature - into the mountain world, immediately experiencing a cozy, warm, sheltered feeling.

The building follows the topographical conditions and the surroundings by almost completely blocking out the busy main road by positioning the access corridors to the north. The orientation and alignment of the building has only one goal: a view of the mountains! Each apartment or chalet offers an impressive view of the peaks of the Hohe Tauern and the Kitzsteinhorn! (Even from the underground garage you can see the surrounding mountains thanks to the terracing! )

The alleys (corridors) of the village face the main road on one side and the village square on the other. The unique, newly interpreted two-storey chalets are partly located on the mountain and are integrated into the village (ChaletIn). They can be reached on foot via the external staircases facing the village square or conveniently using the two elevators to the east and west. The outside staircase connects the (mountain) village with the Pinzgauer Bahn and allows quick and easy access to the terraced apartments and chalets.

The village is framed and held together by the traditional Pinzgau fence, which has been transformed into a new dimension. This wooden façade allows views where they are desired and protects the village from curious and unwanted glances. The primary façade cladding is Rauris stone. These natural materials create a cozy atmosphere and are in dialogue with the surrounding nature. The terraced village square as a central area functions as a meeting point for ALL, whether locals or guests, and is completed by the village stream (pond) as a further connecting basic element. Embedded in the surrounding nature, symbolized as a green façade.
